Coffee Growth
It is grown in several regions around the world. Ethiopia is the region where the coffee was discovered but in the recent past it has been produced on a large-scale in several areas including Colombia, Indonesia, America, eastern and central Africa, Brazil, south-east Asia and Indonesia.
The varieties we have
Coffee is not just coffee, contrary to common belief. There are different types of the same and this does not just include instant coffee and the regular one. The basic way to distinguish its different varieties is to divide it as either Arabica coffee or Green coffee. These two types are different in the taste, the scent, the level of acidity and even the varieties we have.
Processing
It is processed in many ways depending on the place where it is processed. This process involves picking of the berries either by hand or using a machine. They are then sorted and the seeds are removed. The next step is fermentation but it is not done in all cases but when done, the berries have to be washed afterwards. The berries can then be dried and roasted after all the processes above have been taken care of.
Brewing
The process of brewing is one of the essential steps in the processing of coffee that has a great bearing on the effect that the coffee will have on the health of the consumer. A good example of this is that the coffee, which is filtered, is found to contain fewer oils than the coffee that has been pressed. This therefore implies that the filtered coffee will contain less cholesterol that the one that has been pressed.
Whether you are a coffee enthusiast or not it is always a good idea to have some in depth knowledge about the things that are common in the world because they can affect you or your loved ones and you have to be able to identify their credibility before you use them.
